The art of writing

Just a couple of days ago, the Straits Times Featured a Swedish who did grafiti on a MRT train and is going to be severely punished.
This Swedish is probably merely trying to display and express his artistic ability. However, he did it the wrong way. He should have known that law and order in Singapore is very strict and that such practices are banned in Singapore.
For me, this has really been an eyeopener for me. I personally feel that Singapore should definitely give people more opportunities for expressing their creativity and artistic talent. For example, Singapore can have a grafiti wall, in which people can express their creativity; and this wall should have its boundaries, in which people will be fined or severely punished if they exceed this boundary.
However, if Singapore allowed the freedom of doing grafiti all over the walls in Singapore, chaos would be present all over the country. People would abuse this freedom to vandalise various walls and areas. Even the non-artistic people will use this 'privilege' to display vulgarities all over. And some of the people may even do grafiti on inappropriate places like the parliament house, schools, road signs.
Hence, this incident has really been an eyeopener for me. It made me realise why Singapore has imposed such laws and emphasise so much about order in Singapore. I also understood that there must be limits to everything, and that includes the expressivity of one's creativity. I belive that one must still comply and follow the law, as the law is to help maintain order and ensure the safety of citizens in the country.
